Vice-President Kembo Mohadi will be the Guest of Honour at this year’s Annual Stakeholder Convention, organised by the Presidential Programme 4 Professionals, with about 1 000 delegates expected to attend.
The annual convention, which will bring together professionals from across the country’s 10 provinces, including those in the Diaspora, will be held in Harare on April 29.
In an interview, Presidential Programme 4 Professionals chairperson, Mr Kudzai Ngirazi, said the gathering marks a critical platform for engagement between experts in various fields and senior Government officials, as part of a major push to strengthen collaboration and accelerate national development in line with Vision 2030.
“The upcoming Annual Stakeholder Convention, where Vice-President Mohadi will be the Guest of Honour, will bring together professionals from different fields across our 10 provinces, including the Diaspora community.
“With the convention taking place on April 29 at the Heritage Village in Harare, we expect enhanced collaboration between professionals and senior Government officials going forward,” he said.
Among key speakers expected at the high-level indaba are National Housing and Social Amenities Minister Professor Paul Mavima; Transport and Infrastructural Development Minister Felix Mhona; Information Communication Technology, Postal and Courier Services Minister Tatenda Mavetera; and Women’s Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Minister Senator Monica Mutsvangwa.
The Presidential Programme 4 Professionals is an initiative established to create a network of professionals collaborating with the President to tackle national socio-economic challenges, foster innovation, and advance sustainable development.
It also aims to foster professional excellence and teamwork among senior Government officials and industry experts.
Mr Ngirazi said the initiative is aligned with the national vision espoused by President Mnangagwa of transforming Zimbabwe into an upper-middle-income economy by 2030.
“Every professional in Zimbabwe, including those in the Diaspora, must play a role in contributing towards Vision 2030.
“We expect innovative ideas from this convention that will help address gaps within our industries and markets,” he said.
It is hoped that the convention will foster a spirit of teamwork across different disciplines while promoting the adoption of digital solutions to improve efficiency and service delivery.
“In today’s world, many challenges professionals face can be addressed through digital innovation.
“And we want to improve service delivery and effectiveness through practical solutions,” said Mr Ngirazi.
By fostering innovation and connecting with professionals abroad, the Presidential Programme 4 Professionals also facilitates career opportunities for graduates through the Presidential Innovation Hub, further contributing to Zimbabwe’s development goals.
The forthcoming convention is expected to place particular emphasis on the Information Communication Technology sector, while still accommodating a broad range of professions from the public and private sectors, academia, non-governmental organisations and industry leaders.
The convention is expected to generate actionable insights and strengthen partnerships critical to driving Zimbabwe’s socio-economic transformation.
